ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AND TESTING
Keeping up with electrical inspections can be difficult, so let us make it easier. Our electrical installation systems are all designed to satisfy or exceed current legislation so you can be sure everything is in hand. Our engineers can also provide advice around any existing systems you may already have installed. Our team are flexible and happy to fit around your schedule – allowing you to continue running your business without interruption.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CONDITION REPORT (EICR)
EICR’s are an essential part of electrical maintenance and safety required by law in commercial, industrial and domestic premises. A periodic inspection checks the condition of an existing installation against BS7671, the UK standard of electrical safety. Every inspection is carried out by an Approved Contractor and a NICEIC Certificate is produced upon satisfactory completion.
An EICR should be carried out every 3 to 10 years, depending on the location type, use of location and the condition. This may need to be carried out more regularly due to change of tenancy, insurance requests and environmental conditions.
PAT (PORTABLE APPLIANCE TESTING)
PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) is an essential part of electrical maintenance required by law in commercial and industrial premises as well as HMO (house in multiple occupations). All of our electrical engineers are fully qualified and experienced in running PAT testing to the highest standard.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires that any electrical equipment that has the potential to cause injury is maintained in a safe condition. The frequency of the equipment used should determine how often it is checked by a qualified expert, but we recommend a yearly visit to maintain compliancy of appliances.
When our engineers arrive to complete your PAT test they will check for frayed and damaged wires, as well as the condition of the plug and casing around the appliance. If an appliance is deemed faulty they will either be able to repair it on the spot or recommend a course of action to ensure all equipment is safe to use in the workplace.
When an appliance is deemed safe to use our engineer will mark it with a bar-code sticker which will help the next electrician to identify the state of the equipment when next tested.
WE ALSO OFFER A RANGE OF DOMESTIC ELECTRICAL SERVICES, WHICH INCLUDE:
